Fishing: tools, catches and hidden waters

Learn ordinary fishing tool requirements and the separate rules for rare battle-food fish in the hidden hunting grounds.

Ordinary fishing tools

These are fishing-skill requirements, not character levels. Use the tool on a valid fishing tile. Catch tables vary by tool and skill bracket; the highest-level tool is not a guarantee of a rare catch. The large net has a configured 20% multiple-fish chance.

Ordinary raw catches feed into Cooking. Some tools also have separate lucky-roll tables for treasure and unusual fish. Those rolls differ by tool and should not be confused with the fixed special-fish chance.

The hidden-water exception

Inside the three hidden hunting grounds, eligible rod casts on ordinary water use the special fishing rules: arena completion, fishing 50, area level, one ordinary worm, 500 gold, 2% catch chance and account quotas. The three special species are ready-to-use food and are not ordinary raw cooking ingredients.

Do not search for a fishing glyph. The water itself is the fishing location.
